35 Years of Topco's Erotic Heritage

LAS VEGAS - The 35-year history of leading novelty manufacturer Topco Sales is featured at the new Erotic Heritage Museum in Las Vegas, Nev.

In the ethos of its owner and management, California non-profit The Exodus Trust, the Erotic Heritage Museum is dedicated to bridging the gap between what is seen as pornographic and that which is aesthetic, with particular emphasis on the progression of the American Sexual Revolution in the 20th century. The over-24,000-square-foot museum opened August 2 with the theme "Erotic Art Now"and is a collaboration between the Trust, Harry Mohney, and Ted McIlvenna.

"Harry Mohney called me several months ago and told me all about his plans for this amazing museum. I told him he could count on Topco Sales to help. The Las Vegas location is perfect for the museum, and I am sure it will draw huge crowds from around the world. We are honored to be a part of it and the timing couldn't be better as we celebrate our 35-year anniversary," said Scott Tucker, president and CEO of Topco Sales.

Harry Mohney commented, "Topco Sales' contribution to the world in terms of sex toy ingenuity is a vital part of our collective erotic heritage. Plus the company has molded some of the biggest names in porn over the years, and those castings are important to preserve and display. We are pleased to have Topco Sales as part of the Erotic Heritage Museum collection."

The Topco Sales Exhibit spans the history of the company, from the two books founder Martin Tucker wrote on sex to the recent merger in China. It illustrates the impact the manufacturer has had on the adult novelty industry. Topco's technological and product innovations are on display, including the first rabbit-style toys, integrated circuit (I.C.) operated vibrators, mega motors with 12,000 RPMs, and CyberSkin. Products such as the Love Swing will be on display and a behind-the-scenes video of the company's factory and celebrity molding facilities is shown on a flat screen television.

In addition to cast permanent exhibition space, The Erotic Heritage Museum has the facilities to support lectures, symposiums, and literary functions and is affiliated with the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality and the American College of Sexologists. The museum is located at 3275 Industrial, just off the Las Vegas Strip. Admission is $15. For opening times and more information, please visit EroticHeritageMuseum.com.
