Twitch Live Streamer Uses Phone As Vibrator, Gets Ban From Site

Twitch.tv is an online platform where video gamers can live stream themselves playing games, talking to other gamers online and generally enhancing the fun of video gaming, and being part of the global gaming community. But apparently, Twitch doesn’t want its users to have too much fun.

On Easter Sunday, a young woman on the platform, who goes by the screen name “Ahrilove” was in the middle of an interactive gaming experience on the platform when, as the gaming site Dexerto reported, she suddenly changed to a whole different experience.

“She turned her phone to vibrate mode and placed it in her shorts,” wrote VPESports.com. Though the video didn’t include any nudity and at least at first glance could come across as “safe for work,” it quickly becomes clear that “Ahrilove” is using the phone as a vibrator, streaming not only a video game, but also her latest masturbation session.

The stunt came to the attention of Twitch administrators, who quickly banned the enthusiastic user from the platform for 24 hours. But while Ahrilove’s antics were unusual even for the freewheeling Twitch service, the site has banned users for sexy behavior in the past, as well.

In January, a woman from Romania with the screen name “Lucia_onnomnom” appeared on a live stream topless—but by accident. Lucia apparently was under the impression that she had logged off the service when she removed her shirt. But the service nailed her with her a three-day ban anyway.

The Twitch terms of service specifically prohibit “nudity and sexually explicit content or activities” as well as “sexually suggestive content or activities.”

But other types of behavior also merit bans from Twitch. Last week, Twitch live streamer Karina 'Karupups' Martsinkevich showed her followers he latest cosplay exercise, donning the costume of the  character Lifeline, from the game Apex Legends. Unfortunately, the costume included  “blackface” and the woman applied the skin-darkening makeup live on webcam.

She was hit with a one-month ban, for violating the Twitch rule against “incitement to hatred towards a person or a group of people,” and later apologized for her online actions, saying "I made a mistake because I didn't have enough information,” adding that in Lithuania, where she resides, there is very little education around issues of racism, and racist symbolism such as “blackface.”
