Troubled Performer Clover Busted After 13-Hour Police Standoff

LOS ANGELES—Casey Daniel Purser, a formerly active performer who appeared in dozens of porn videos under the stage name Clover, was arrested in Costa Mesa, California, on Monday on a series of charges including gun and controlled substance violations, after holing up inside a house there as police waited 13 hours for him to emerge, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times

The arrest would be just the latest for the performer who has previously been arrested at least twice, with at least one arrest leading to a 120-day jail sentence, according to an account by the site RealPornWikiLeaks. According to that earlier report, Purser’s 2014 guilty plea to misdemeanor domestic battery charges resulted in his brief incarceration.

Purser’s victim in the 2014 case was his then-girlfriend Jennifer Jaen, who alleged multiple, repeated instances of physical abuse by Purser, including one instance when, she said, she picked him up in a rental car at Burbank Airport, when Purser accused her of having another man in the car before him.  “He threw my face into the steering wheel and started to beat me in the car in front of a whole crowd of people standing just outside the car,” she said.

But Purser was arrested again on similar charges in 2015, according to an AVN.com report, which also reported a lengthy history of arrests for Purser, for DUI and animal cruelty charges as well as domestic violence accusations.

Following his 2015 arrest, Purser was quickly dropped by the talent agency representing him, ATMLA.

He was also arrested in May of this year on a firearms charge, the Times reported.

According to the Times report, Purser’s latest arrest came after police in Costa Mesa responded to a report of “suspicious circumstances” at a hime there at about 3:20 a.m. on Monday. Purser was in the house with a woman and “threatened to harm her,” according to the report. But the woman was able to escape out the front door, with Purser chasing her. But he remained inside the house.

Police then waited until about 5 p.m., when Purser emerged carrying a backpack and was arrested by the waiting detectives. According to the report, his backpack contained, “two loaded 9mm handguns, drugs including 12 grams of cocaine and 17 Adderall pills and $15,000 in cash.”

Purser later entered not guilty pleas to three felony and two misdemeanor counts.
