LOS ANGELES—The Pride Store, an LGBTQ-owned e-commerce community, has partnered with reigning GayVN Best Newcomer Derek Kage and fellow performer Cody Silver (aka Cody Seiya) to raise funds for adult entertainment industry trade organization the Free Speech Coalition (FSC).
According to Pride, The Pride Store platform promises that 10 percent of all sales made using the promo codes "DerekKage" or "CodySilver" will go to support FSC.
In a report earlier this month, Pride branded content editor Nic Austin noted that such a partnership "empowers individuals to express their identities through fashion but also contributes to safeguarding the fundamental right to free speech within the adult entertainment industry."
“Queer speech is under attack in this country," said Kage in a statement to Pride. "I'm grateful for The Pride Store's solidarity with adult creators, showing that our community will come together when a part of us is being targeted by legislation every day."
"There's been a very conservative resurgence in terms of policing our sexuality and limiting our free speech, so this work is really on the frontlines," Silver told Pride.
The Free Speech Coalition is engaged in lobbying efforts across the country to fight age verification laws that target not only adult content but LGBTQ+ themes online.
