SWAID Partners With CLEAR to Provide Free Safety Items in L.A.

LOS ANGELES—Sex worker support group SWAID Collective has teamed up with talent testing provider CLEAR to provide contraceptives and harm reduction supplies, including a limited supply of Plan B, Narcan and fentanyl strips, at the new CLEAR location in Los Angeles.

Supplies will be available free of charge to anyone at the CLEAR L.A. location, and can be obtained by simply walking in; no appointment is required.

SWAID is a mutual aid fund created by sex workers to provide aid to the community including cash microgrants, contraceptives, harm reduction supplies and community building. By partnering with CLEAR, which caters directly to the adult industry, SWAID will have a permanent home to distribute essential supplies directly to community members.

"The folks at CLEAR have been very generous and supportive of our work, and we are so excited about this partnership," says performer Codi Vore, one of the organizers behind SWAID. "This is a huge step forward for SWAID because we are able to branch out and have a physical presence in L.A.!"

CLEAR has been operating a testing facility in Miami since August of last year, and just opened its newest location in Northridge. CLEAR is the only PASS-certified testing facility in Los Angeles and Miami.

“We admire SWAID’s mission and want to be supportive in any way we can. Making these supplies available to folks, whether they work in the industry or not, is a noble cause that we are excited to be a part of," a CLEAR representative said. "We look forward to supporting SWAID and helping them spread their wings in L.A. and beyond.”

CLEAR is located at 8415 Reseda Blvd, Suite 7, Northridge, CA 91324, and is open Monday through Friday 8-4, and Saturdays 8-1. For more information on SWAID and CLEAR, respectively, visit www.swaidcollective.org and www.getclrd.com, and follow on Twitter @swaidvegas and @get_clrd
