Alex Jones, the radio and internet conspiracy theorist who has claimed that the Sandy Hook schoolhouse shooting was a hoax, that the government controls the weather and that Hillary Clinton runs a child sex ring out of a pizza parlor, was banned from several social media and video sharing sites this week.
The vast media publicity blitz this week for Alex Jones directly affected one veteran porn performer—Alex Jones. That led Rolling Stone magazine to track down the porn industry’s Jones for a lengthy interview published on Thursday, in which the porn performer revealed that he, too, is fascinated by conspiracy theories.
“I’ve kind of always been into conspiracy theories, and of course Alex Jones covers all the strange things that people are afraid of,” Jones told Rolling Stone. “So I’ve been familiar with him for a while now. I didn’t specifically search him. I just came across him.”
As might be expected, social media users often confuse the porn Jones for the Donald Trump supporting Jones—Trump was once a guest on Jones’ Infowars radio show and praised the conspiracy theorist as “amazing”—but the star of Big Tits on the Beach, Booty Bunch and Banging Bella 2, among dozens of other titles, also said that he is sometimes mistaken for the more famous Jones by his prospective scene partners.
“Other performers will be skeptical about shooting with me because they’re like, ‘I looked him up and he doesn’t look like what you said he is,’” Jones said. “A few times, and they’re like, 'Is this that fat guy?' and I’m like, 'No no no. I’m light-skinned, kinda tall—I don’t look anything like that guy.'"
But even though the porn industry’s Alex Jones—who started his career under the name “Ace Jones” but changed it to Alex because "Ace" was “kind of a dumb name”—professes his own affinity for conspiracy theories, he doesn’t want his politics to be confused with those of his more notorious namesake, a lesson he learned from the brief period in which he followed Jones on Instagram, and the conspiracy theorist followed him back.
“I’m pretty sure I followed him first, just from like looking at his stuff and I was like, y’know, this is pretty funny. And he followed me back like five minutes later. ... And then after I started looking through his videos and stuff and watching different things and hearing how he feels about the country and Trump and stuff, I was like, “Oh okay, I’m gonna unfollow you.’”
