Report: New Suit Filed by GirlsDoPorn Jane Does Against MindGeek

LOS ANGELES—A new lawsuit brought by 40 Jane Doe plaintiffs who claim to have been victimized by website GirlsDoPorn.com was filed today in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California against Pornhub parent company MindGeek for hosting and profiting from the GirlsDoPorn content at the heart of their grievances.

Vice.com reports that the suit, filed by attorneys Brian Holm and John O'Brien, seeks damages in the upper tens of millions of dollars as redress for "MindGeek's knowing financial benefit and participation in GirlsDoPorn's sex trafficking venture," which resulted, the suit claims, in the plaintiffs suffering damages "including, but not limited to, severe emotional distress, significant trauma, attempted suicide, and social and familial ostracization."

This follows a lawsuit against GirlsDoPorn that concluded in January with 22 Jane Doe plaintiffs being awarded more than $12.7 million by San Diego Superior Court Judge Kevin Enright for similar damages.
