PRAGUE, Czech Republic—Production company Really Useful Ltd., which oversees brands such as FakeTaxi, FakeHub and SexyHub, issued a statement Tuesday that it plans to continue holding production for its own various labels until at least March 26.
This extends the production hold currently in effect for all Czech-based adult producers through March 13. That overall hold for the country was called February 20 in response to the case reported February 14 of a performer in the European talent pool testing positive for HIV.
In the Really Useful statement, owner JT said, "We shoot in excess of 80 scenes per month in the Czech Republic and UK, and after seeking medical advice from the highest possible sources, we feel it's within the best interest for the protection of any performer shooting for us that we do extend the hold."
He continued, "Of the known first generation performers, most will have a second test on/by 25th March. The final known first generation will be eligibile for their FIRST test at this same time." [Ed. note: JT explained in a follow-up email that the final first generation performer in question "is understood to have immediately taken PEP" and "had to finish the 28 day course and have at least 10 days clear before they could have their first test since exposure.]
"It's my informed opinion that extending the original hold of March 13 by a further 12 days is necessary and only then can we be sure that all known performers are negative," JT expressed. "I have based this decision on trusted medical advice and this is a decision I have made for my own company and not as representative of any alliance. I believe the risk, no matter how small, of shooting prior to the final known performer having their first test far outweighs the inconvenience that the extra 12 days hold causes."
