LOS ANGELES—Adult mental health resource Pineapple Support will host a webinar about borderline personality disorder (BPD) Thursday, May 20 at 5 p.m. ET.
Hosted by licensed mental health counselor Rachael Wells the “Borderline and Strong—Myth-Busting BPD” webinar will explore the disorder, its origins and development, as well as the many misunderstandings in the mental health community about this condition. Wells will also cover treatment options and support to encourage healing.
"Borderline personality disorder affects not just your behaviour and your relationship with others, but also how you feel about yourself," Wells said. "The most important thing is that we do recover! Many with BPD can learn to live fulfilling lives with time, treatment and support. Accessing sex-positive and stigma-free support for BPD as a sex worker is paramount for treatment."
Pineapple Support was founded by British performer Leya Tanit in 2018 after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, which is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has so far connected over 2,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling and emotional support.
"This webinar isn't only for performers with borderline personality disorder," Tanit said. "Rachel will also educate industry workers about the disorder, as well as providing useful insight and knowledge for those who live with or spend time with people with borderline personality disorder."
The “Borderline and Strong—Myth-Busting BPD” webinar will take place via Zoom. It is scheduled to last one hour but may extend. For more information and to access the webinar link, visit pineapplesupport.org/webinars.
