CYBERSPACE—Adult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support has joined PervOUT Productions in launching a competition to encourage veteran performers to share their knowledge with newcomers to the industry.
The competition, which runs until Feb, 17, asks established performers to record a Zoom conversation with a performer that is new to the industry, in which the veteran teaches about or the pair discusses a chosen topic. The winning video will be chosen on February 17 and a trophy will be awarded to both performers. The new performer will also receive a new MacBook Pro laptop.
"We want to encourage random acts of kindness in the industry, so we're calling on experienced performers to share their knowledge and experience with a newcomer," said Lance Hart, founder of PervOUT Productions. “Topics could include anything from how to get booked more to how to increase your social media following or even budgeting tips and financial advice. Whatever your skillset or expertise, we want you to pay it forward and help new performers succeed."
"As a newcomer to the adult industry, it can be difficult to access the knowledge needed to succeed, which is why peer education is incredibly important," said Leya Tanit, founder of Pineapple Support. "With mentorship and knowledge-sharing initiatives like this, new performers can not only learn about on-the-job specifics, but can also gain invaluable insight into what it takes to be a successful adult performer."
Those wishing to enter the competition may send their recorded Zoom conversation via Dropbox to [email protected], including in the email the social media handles of both performers. The competition will run until February 17, at which time the winners will be announced via social media. Videos will be hosted on Pervout.com/education.
