CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Adult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support will host a free, online support group starting Tuesday for survivors of sexual trauma in the industry. Sponsored by Brazzers, the six-week “Survivors of Sexual Trauma” support group will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Alicia Graham and will begin at 2 p.m. PT on Tuesday, April 9 .
"In this support group, you will have open time to share your experiences and receive support around your emotions while having the opportunity to explore strategies for encouraging post-traumatic growth," Graham said. "This group will also focus on nervous system regulation and returning to a feeling of safety and support."
Pineapple Support was founded by performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has connected over 14,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling and emotional support.
“This group offers an open and accepting space for survivors of sexual trauma to receive therapeutic support, learn coping strategies, and connect with others who have shared experiences," commented Tanit. "I'd like to extend our appreciation for the generous support of Brazzers for sponsoring this vital support group."
Each session of the “Survivors of Sexual Trauma” support group will last for around one hour and will take place online each Tuesday at the same time, until May 14. For more information about this support group and to reserve a spot, visit pineapplesupport.org/support-
