CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Adult industry mental health support organization Pineapple Support has launched a campaign to encourage seasoned adult performers and models to share their advice about life and the industry with those who are just starting out.
The campaign, titled "What Advice Would I Give to My Younger Self," calls on adult performers to submit videos in which they give advice about what they wish they had known when starting out in the adult industry. The videos, which must be submitted before September 30 in order to be included, should cover topics including the advice they would have given to themselves when getting started, what they would have done differently, as well as tips and tricks for getting started.
“Those of us who have been in the adult industry for a while know just how tough it can be,” says Leya Tanit, founder of Pineapple Support. “How amazing would it have been to have someone to help you along the way and share advice, tips and tricks? We would like to collaborate with all performers and models, and ask you to share your knowledge, wisdom and advice to those just beginning their journey.”
Tanit founded Pineapple Support in 2018 in response to losses in the adult industry from depression, addiction and other mental illnesses. The organization, which is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit in the United States and a registered charity in the U.K., has so far connected more than 1,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost, therapy, counseling and emotional support.
Anyone who wishes to take part in the new campaign should click here for more information. The videos, which should be between one and five minutes in length, should be submitted before September 30 via the Dropbox link on that page, along with a signed release form.
