IEAU to Hold May Day March in Promotion of Anti-FOSTA Bill

LOS ANGELES—The International Entertainment Adult Union (IEAU) has issued a call for all members of the adult industry past or present to join in a march today where the group will formally unveil a bill it plans to propose to the U.S. Congress asking for an amendment to the recently passed FOSTA/SESTA measure.

The union's proposed bill, titled the Red Collar Workers Act (RCW), asks for modification of FOSTA "to protect the workers inside the adult industry that are not sex trafficking victims, which will give us legal rights and protection to work without the fear of criminalization," according to the IEAU website.

The announcement of today's march says groups plan to take part in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Rhode Island and Ontario. Those marching with the IEAU join thousands of others from all labor unions, as well as immigrant rights activists, women's groups and LGBTQ advocates participating in the annual International Workers Day protests scheduled to take place today across the country.

Organizers ask that all participants marching with IEAU wear red. The group marching in Los Angeles plans to gather on the corner of 6th and Hill streets at Pershing Square, and begin marching promptly at noon. For information on the marches in other cities, email [email protected]

Those in Los Angeles who need a ride to the meeting location may call (818) 205-7500 or DM the union on Twitter @ientertainadult.
