Deven Davis, a former adult industry performer who retired from porn almost 20 years ago and went on to become a fashion model and clothing designer, has died, according to a statement issued by the Davis family and published by the music site Loudwire.
Davis was 42 years old, according to her biography on her IMDB.com page, but a biography by Ford Modeling, the agency that represented her in her fashion career, gave her age as 39.
Other than her work as a porn performer and fashion entrepreneur, Davis was perhaps best known as the wife of rock star Jonathan Davis, lead vocalist of the California rap-metal band Korn, which found the peak of its success in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Deven Davis and Jonathan Davis married in Hawaii in 2004. They had two children, but filed for divorce in 2016 due to "irreconcilable differences."
“The Davis family is brokenhearted over the devastating loss of Deven Davis. We ask that you respect their privacy — and the privacy of those close to the family — and allow them the space to mourn in private,” the family’s statement read. “We thank you for your love, understanding and prayers of support during this difficult time.”
According to a report on Davis’s death by Britain’s Mirror newspaper, after settling in Malibu, California, in 2006, the couple became active in philanthrophic activities, often donating money to aid with natural disaster relief after the mudslides and fires which often affect the region.
But according to reporting by the site TMZ, the couple were estranged largely due to ongoing drug and alcohol problems that the former porn performer could not overcome.
On August 17, TMZ reported, Jonathan Davis filed for a restraining order against his wife, citing domestic violence and claiming that she had tried six substance abuse rehab stints, all of which failed, and that her ongoing drug binges posed a threat to the couple’s children.
Deven Davis died the same day, reportedly unaware that her husband had sought and received the restraining order against her, according to TMZ. No cause of death has been revealed.
According to her Internet Adult Film Database page, most of Davis’s work in the industry came in 1999, and included four entries in the all-girl Perfect Pink series.
