POSTPONED-CSPH To Hold Annual 'Curiosities' Fundraiser March 13

PROVIDENCE, RI—It may be hard to believe, but the Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health (CSPH) has been serving the public for ten years now, and to celebrate its 10th anniversary, it's holding its annual fundraising auction, “Curiosities: Celebrating a Decade of Sex Ed,” on Friday, March 13, at Machines with Magnets, 400 Main St., Pawtucket, RI, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

This year’s art theme focuses on inclusivity, with works that incorporate visual elements traditionally associated with that anniversary: diamonds, tin and aluminum. Rather than settle on one element, the organizing community decided in the spirit of inclusivity to include all three.

“‘Curiosities’ is our annual signature event and we’re especially excited to be celebrating our first 10 years of providing culturally inclusive, medically accurate sex education to adults,” said CSPH Executive Director Alicia Gauvin. “The event is always full of laughter, terrific artwork available through our live auction, and a range of other items and experiences in our silent auction.”

Besides artworks by local artists commissioned for the auction, other items available will include handcrafted home goods and bags, a one-night stay at the Dean Hotel, culinary goods from local shops, and interesting experiences, such as dinner with a philosopher of sexuality and related issues.

“Inclusivity is both our anniversary theme and central to our mission, and ‘Curiosities’ will reflect that,” Gauvin said. “The event is also a fun way to meet the eclectic mix of people who support CSPH.”

Deluxe general admission tickets are available for $50 and include a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and early admission to the art gallery at 6 p.m. to view the works available for bidding. General admission tickets are priced at $30. Other pricing tiers are also available. Information about all pricing tiers and tickets are available here. The online auction begins March 6.
