APAG to Host Town Hall With Eliza Orlins as Guest

LOS ANGELES—The Adult Performance Artists Guild (APAG) will host a special town hall meeting this Sunday, April 11, with guest speaker Eliza Orlins, a candidate running for District Attorney of New York County.

As a public defender for the Legal Aid Society, Orlins has represented more than 3,000 New Yorkers who typically would not otherwise have been able to afford a lawyer. She has consistently advocated for sex work decriminalization, and The Daily Beast called her plan "one of the most detailed policy positions on the full decriminalization of sex work ever put forward by a major candidate at any level of U.S. politics." As part of her platform in her bid for District Attorney, she has promised to establish a dedicated Worker Protection Unit to work closely with community organizations and labor unions to combat labor violations. She has been a union member of the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys Local 2325, part of UAW 9A, since 2009.

While many may be familiar with Orlins from recent headlines concerning her positions on sex worker rights, they may also recognize her as a former contestant on two different seasons of smash hit reality show Survivor.

The APAG town hall meeting with Orlins will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. Members of the adult industry community may RSVP here to attend. For more information about Orlins, visit ElizaOrlins.com. For More information about APAG, visit www.APAGUnion.com.
