APAG's Union Status Confirmed by Department of Labor

LOS ANGELES—The Adult Performance Artists Guild (APAG) announces that it has received its federal filing number from the U.S. Department of Labor and been officially confirmed as a union.

Originally known as the Adult Performers Actors Guild and instituted as a chapter of the International Entertainment Adult Union (IEAU), APAG severed its relationship with said parent union in 2020 and re-organized under its current name.

Receiving filing status as a union unto itself offers APAG the opportunity to open multiple chapters across the world. The organization says its focus at present is on "growing membership, continuing [its] battle against occupational discrimination and creating collective bargaining agreements with adult businesses and platforms."

"It has been a long road for our group," APAG president Alana Evans said. "We are so pleased that after so many years of being held down, restricted by past issues with our former parent union, the freedom of having our own filing will empower our members and our community. We will be able to fund our programs and extend our access to care and support for our workers."

Added APAG legal cousel James Felton, "I am really proud of the officers and members of the Union who made this happen. This step will open up lots of important opportunities for performers."

Along with Evans and Felton, APAG's board members are Ruby (vice president), Kelly Pierce (secretary), Ash of DitaInc (treasurer), Amber Lynn (sergeant at arms), India Morel (board member), Jorge Reano (parliamentarian) and Tino D (steward).

APAG holds member meetings biweekly offering educational panels, political and legistlative webinars, committee meetings and worker support. It currently offers a performer training program in which industry workers complete a series of educational coursees and receive a certificate of completion.
