Slain Porn Pioneer's Daughter on the Lam in Calif. - UPDATED

LOS ANGELES—In a scenario out of a movie, the 33-year-old daughter of a legendary porn mogul shot to death by his own brother in 1991 is being sought by Sonoma County sheriffs for her role in a identify theft ring and also for ramming an unmarked police car last week after investigators had tracked her and a suspected accomplice to an apartment complex in San Pablo.

Warrants for Jasmine Mitchell, the daughter of Artie Mitchell—the San Francisco porn king who, along with his brother Jim, founded the O'Farrell strip club in the Tenderloin in 1989, and also produced and directed some of the most successful adult movies of the 1970s, including Behind the Green Door—and Roy Kim, 34, had already been issued when someone gave investigators a tip that the two could be found "at an apartment complex across from the San Pablo Lytton Casino off Interstate 80," reported SFGate.com today.

Sonoma County sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Raasch told the site that the two were wanted on warrants related to "multiple identity thefts," and that "Kim, who is on parole for possession of stolen property, was also being sought by state parole agents and for a burglary case in Santa Clara."

Reporter Henry K. Lee continued, "Detectives searched the unit and detained three other people after finding evidence at the apartment of a large-scale identity theft and credit-card fraud operation, authorities said. One of them was Harley Logsdon, 46, of San Pablo, who was arrested for a probation violation stemming from a forgery case in Napa County.

"As detectives were on scene," he added, "Mitchell drove into the apartment complex parking lot in a white Mercedes."

Rausch commented, "When detectives attempted to arrest Mitchell, she rammed an unmarked police vehicle with her vehicle, and she struck another parked car before escaping."

As SFGate.com notes, and AVN reported at the time, "Jasmine Mitchell is only the latest in the family to run afoul of the law. James Mitchell, a son of Jim Mitchell, was sentenced to 35 years to life in prison for killing the mother of his young daughter with a baseball bat in Novato in 2009."

Jasmine Mitchell was arrested Thurasday night at an upscale hotel in Marin, California, the San Jose Mercury News has reported.

"Jasmine Mitchell, 33, was arrested after a brief struggle at the Lodge at Tiburon, where officials found her," the paper stated. "Investigators had been checking upscale hotels for Mitchell, who allegedly stayed at the Acqua Hotel in Mill Valley under an assumed name Sunday night. Mitchell was not staying at the Tiburon hotel and might have been arriving to check in, said Sonoma County sheriff's Sgt. Michael Raasch."

SFgate.com added, "Mitchell had counterfeit credit cards in her possession, as well as cash, methamphetamine and 'papers in her purse suggesting that she was preparing to flee the country,' Raasch said.

"Mitchell is now in federal custody pending the formal filing of charges by the U.S. Attorney’s office in an ongoing identity-theft case being investigated by the Secret Service, authorities said."
