RENO, Nev. — Girls Gone Wild honcho Joe Francis has lost his bid to be released from custody in a Nevada jail without fear of being extradited to Florida to stand trial in another case, the Associated Press reports.
Francis, 34, is currently awaiting trial in Nevada for tax evasion. In addition, he's wanted in Florida on charges stemming from taping underage girls for his Girls Gone Wild series of videos.
While caught in this legal tug-of-war between the two states, Francis has been incarcerated for nearly a year.
According to the AP, on Wednesday U.S. District Judge Brian Sandoval denied arguments by Francis' attorneys that would have freed the video mogul and at the same time kept Florida prosecutors from jailing him.
