Man Gets 65 Year Sentence in 2011 Adult Store Stabbing Death

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana—A 28-year-old man was sentenced to 65 years in prison today for murdering a Bloomington adult entertainment store clerk in 2011. Michael Angle Jr. stabbed 47-year-old Lauren Kahn of Bedford more than 30 times with a folding night in a crime he says he doesn’t even remember committing.

“During his trial,” reported therepublic.com, “Angle told jurors he remembered walking into the store on the night of the stabbing, but could not remember what happened once inside.”

Angle sought a not guilty verdict based on his contention that he was insane at the time of the November 2011 murder, but last month a jury rejected that argument, finding Angle guilty of felony murder and involuntary manslaughter in the death of Kahn, who despite the numerous stab wounds was able to call 911 “as she lay dying on the floor of the store,” the site reported.

The lengthy sentence was handed down by Monroe Circuit Judge Marc Kellams
