MIAMI—Male adult performer Jah-T and an accomplice were found guilty Wednesday in a Miami federal court on a combined 32 charges related to criminal acts committed by the men between 2006 and 2011, when they sought out and lured women to fake auditions for modeling jobs, where they were drugged, raped and videotaped having sex. The content was then sold for distribution on adult websites. Adding insult to extreme injury, none of the women were ever paid.
Lavont Flanders Jr., 40, and Emerson "Jah-T" Callum, 45, were indicted by a Miami grand jury Aug. 16, charged with conspiracy, human trafficking and distribution of Xanax. Each man faces life in prison at sentencing on Feb. 16 by U.S. District Judge K. Michael Moore.
“Flanders, a former Miami Beach police officer who had more than a dozen aliases listed in court records, would pose as a female model online to entice aspiring models from around the country to come to South Florida for purported auditions,” reported the Sun Sentinel. “Seven women testified that once they provided their phone numbers, they were contacted by Flanders, who then claimed to be a talent scout for multinational companies such as Bacardi, Sony and Paramount Pictures, according to prosecutors.”
After luring women to the fake audition, according to prosecutors, “The victims' drinks were laced with benzodiazepine, a common date rape drug. Once the women were sedated, Flanders drove them to a Miramar warehouse. There, Callum had sex with the victims while Flanders recorded them. Flanders and Callum then edited, produced and sold DVDs of the sex acts over the Internet and to pornography stores and businesses across the country through their Miramar-based Miami Vibes Enterprises.”
As reported by AVN in October, the two have also been sued by one of nine women whom authorities said they victimized. The unnamed woman is seeking $10 million.
