Flava Works Scores $350,000 Judgment in Copyright Suit

MIAMIEarlier this year, Flava Works filed lawsuits against two copyright infringers, DGSource.com/Gairoo.com (a forum) and IStackPorn.net (a blog). Today, the company announced that it has been awarded a $301,320 default judgment against Taron Wyche, DGSource.com—d/b/a Gairoo.com, LookLurk.com and Lil Giant Productions—and also won a default judgment in the amount of $52,451.75 against Rod Hughes, Honey Wood and IStackPorn.net.

In the IStackPorn.net case, Flava Works sued not only Rod Hughes, but also Honey Wood, the person who funded the acquisition of the website as well as its hosting.The court also granted a permanent injunction against Taron Wyche, DGSource.com, d/b/a Gairoo.com, d/b/a LookLurk.com, d/b/a Lil Giant Productions.

Flava Works has also recently expanded its in-house legal team with the addition of staff attorneys Meanith Huon, who will work out of Flava Works’ Chicago office, and Jonathan Warrick, who will work alongside staff attorney Mirta Desir out of the Miami office.

The company says more lawsuits are being planned against copyright and trademark infringers, in order to stop internet piracy and put an end to the rampant stealing of Flava Works’ copyrighted material.

“For too long, torrent and tube sites have been pilfering the sites of hard working adult entertainment companies and the time has come to shut them down,” said Phillip Bleicher, CEO of Flava Works.

“Until recently, only a handful of adult content producers have bothered to take serious legal action against these blatant infringers. Today, Flava Works has declared that it will be joining the ranks of these brave and committed few, while encouraging others to follow suit, so that we may hopefully all join forces soon to shut these pirates down for good.”
