CANOGA PARK, Calif. - The Free Speech Coalition will hold a conference on anti-piracy efforts and adult business opportunities in the digital market on Nov. 18 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City.
Entitled "How to Survive and Thrive in the Digital Environment ... From the People Who Know," the private summit will feature leading professionals from the business and legal communities who are "literally creating the 'rules of the road' for dealing with the complex mix of issues concerning the ownership and lawful exploitation of copyrighted content in the digital age."
"Our industry is facing crucial business challenges and tremendous opportunities in the digital realm," said Diane Duke, executive director of the Free Speech Coalition. "This summit grew out of a need articulated by the members of the Free Speech Coalition to address what has become an increasingly more challenging yet potentially profitable time for the adult entertainment industry as it relates to the all aspects of the digital realm.”
The one-day conference will feature expert commentary on legal and business strategies for dealing with intellectual property and copyright theft.
"As other entertainment industries' experience has shown, trade associations can play a critical role in protecting content and maximizing opportunities through litigation, legislative efforts and business solutions," Duke said.
The conference is open to FSC members and other leading business, legal, and strategic participants in the adult entertainment industry. It will run from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by Jenner & Block LLP and Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp LLP.
