FSC Calls for Board Nominations

CANOGA PARK, Calif. – The Free Speech Coalition is calling for nominations to its 2008 Board of Directors.  Incumbents up for re-election are Board President Jim Everett, Board Treasurer Joy King and Board Members Greg Shearer and Nellie Symm-Gruender.  Board Members Sid Grief, Joan Irvine and Connor Young have decided not to run for an additional term.  Incumbents are automatically on the slate of nominations leaving eight open slots for additional nominees.

The Free Speech Coalition will send current FSC members an email nomination form Monday, November 5th.

“If you are a Free Speech Coalition Member and you don’t receive our XPRESS weekly newsletter or our e-mail blasts, call our office today at 818-348-9373,” said Diane Duke, Free Speech Coalition Executive Director.  “It is important to make sure we have current information to reach all of our members.”

This is the first time that FSC has utilized the internet for its nomination and election process.  “If we want maximum participation from our membership, then we have to speak their language,” Duke said.  “The industry has always been a leader in technological development—unfortunately, FSC has not.  This is one of the many steps we are taking to strengthen our technological infrastructure.”

The nomination process will begin November 5th and close November 19th.  Board elections will take place in December.
