Crowd Beats Man for Showing Porn at Playground

A man seen showing pornographic images from a magazine to children at a playground was beaten by a crowd of people before police arrived and arrested him.

Brandon Scott Burke, 20, was at a playground in an apartment complex on the 1700 block of Pratt Street at 7:30 p.m. last Thursday when he was seen showing porn images from an adult magazine to children, some as young as 7, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Police said as many as four children may have seen the photos before the mother of one of the children asked what he was doing. The suspect then ran and was chased by 15 men who then grabbed and beat him.

Police took the magazine and arrested Burke on misdemeanor charges of suspicion of harmful display to a minor. Burke, who did not appear to have a criminal record, was held at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center in lieu of $6,000 bail.

Police said it was unclear what Burke’s intentions were. His address was in nearby Pleasant Grove, about 10 miles away from the complex. He told police he was simply looking for a friend.
