CCV to Hold Anti-Porn Press Conference

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Citizens for Community Values (CCV) will hold a press conference on Thursday in Sioux Falls to protest the decision by S.D.-based service provider, LodgeNet, to offer adult movies. The CCV, which is associated with Focus on the Family, is trying to pressure the South Dakota U.S. Attorney to investigate LodgeNet for what it believes are violations of federal law.

The Ohio-based CCV is working with the South Dakota Family Policy Council (SDFPC), which will present a plan to change South Dakota's obscenity and sexually-oriented business laws.

The press conference is part of a larger CCV campaign which has included a "LodgeNet Profits from Porn" billboard on a major South Dakota throughway, radio ads, and a website, TruthAboutLodgeNet.com.

"We will debunk some of the myths about selling hardcore pornography," CCV President Phil Burress said in the release.

Also speaking at the conference will be retired FBI agent Roger Young and former Los Angeles Police Officer/Investigator Bob Navarro.

LodgeNet offers a variety of movies on-demand and internet services in hotel rooms. The company, which also offers a number of parental control options, must abide by national cable and satellite TV standards.
