Authorities Bust Malaysian Piracy Ring

Authorities have recently seized a large number of pirated adult DVD’s worth around $325,000 U.S. dollars.

A story in Monsters and Critics reported that the operations of the local syndicate, believed to be sending up to 60,000 DVD’s a month, was uncovered when Domestic Trade officers seized more than 2,000 pirated movies from the mailing room of the international airport.

The raid also resulted in the detention of two men believed to be managers of the northern Penang state's largest porn distribution ring, police chief Christopher Wan Soo Kee, said in the report.

The 150,000 porn discs were stored in two 40-foot containers parked in an industrial area, Kee said. The discs were believed to have been brought in from neighboring states and meant for local distribution.
