Winners Announced at 2018 Cybersocket Web Awards

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—This evening at PH Day Club, the 2018 Cybersocket Web Awards were announced in front of a crowd of gay adult performers, fans and industry folk. Doing the honors as hosts were director Chi Chi LaRue and performer Wesley Woods. The following are the winners, separated into Industry Choice Awards and Surfer Choice—the latter voted on by fans.

With its faux-ivy-covered walls and ceiling adorned with oversized paper flowers and hanging spheres made of crystals, PH West Hollywood made an attractive setting for the 2018 Cybersocket Web Awards. But the décor wasn’t the main eye candy. That came courtesy of the gay adult stars in attendance, including some celebrity go-go dancers. As patrons filed into the club, they were treated to Falcon Studios exclusives Johnny V. and Skyy Knox gyrating on pedestals, dollar bills sticking out of their scanty trunks, branded with the Mr. Man logo. Elsewhere around the club were other performers, including Kyle Ross, Max Carter and Blake Mitchell from Helix Studios. But few boasted a bigger entourage than Trenton Ducati—which was a good thing later on in the evening.

Presented by Flirt4Free, the show was co-hosted by director Chi Chi LaRue and performer Wesley Woods. LaRue got right to the point, saying, “Make some motherfucking noise” and proceeding to do just that, cutting through the din. The two had an easy chemistry, teasing back and forth. LaRue asked Woods when he was going to admit he’d had sex with Donald Trump and Woods replied, “I would never admit that because I’ve embarrassed myself enough this year.” Then it was Woods’ turn to tease LaRue about being from Minnesota—or, as La Rue calls it, “the land of lutefisk and MyPillow”—before they got down to business and introduced the trophy boys: Alex Chu, Justin Yurmouth and Dean Phoenix (the latter more of a delicious “trophy daddy,” LaRue noted).

LaRue proved to be in feisty form right from the beginning, lambasting the Cybersocket crew for misspelling the first winner—CCBill, named Best Webmaster Resource CCBill (“They win every fucking year, and you spelled it with one C?”). And LaRue kept up the verbal barrage, alternating between sly asides and enthusiastic outbursts (for instance, complimenting Wall of Fame Award of Excellence honoree Kathi Stout of the Phoenix Forum on her hair and glasses). In addition to CCBill, Flirt4Free was called up on stage more than once, winning Best Affiliate Program and Company of the Year, as well as F4F’s Kimi Evans being named Best Affiliate Rep or Marketing Rep.

Awards were divided up between the major content producers, with Next Door Studios, Men.com, NakedSword, Helix, Cockyboys and Lucas Entertainment winning Surfer Awards for, respectively, Best Mobile Content, Best Video, Best VOD site, Best Movie or Web Series of the Year, Best Sex Scene, and Best Porn Parody or Satire. And Falcon Studios got an Industry Choice nod for Best Content Producer while VRBangers Gay was tapped as Innovative Company of the Year.

Some winners accepted their awards along with the performers with whom they work, including Best Personality winner mr. Pam, who invited up anyone who had her camera “shoved up your asshole.” And Chi Chi La Rue won the Surfer Choice award for Best Director.

But the star power shined brightest when Trenton Ducati accepted his award for Best New Site and he was joined on stage by various male performers who work with him. “This is why we come to awards shows—to see all these gorgeous boys,” LaRue said. And speaking of gorgeous boys, Cockyboys exclusive Cory Kane was tapped for a Surfer Choice award for Best Newcomer and Wesley Woods for Best Porn Star.
