LOS ANGELES—Looking to show a little Pride? The place to be if you’re in Southern California is the city of West Hollywood, where the annual LA Pride event kicks off tonight with an opening ceremony and a Youth Pride Dance.
The hoopla continues with the LA Pride Festival on Saturday and Sunday, with the big parade passing along Santa Monica Boulevard on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For details, visit LAPride.org.
The festive mood in West Hollywood will be enhanced by events at Chi Chi LaRue’s, an adult boutique that celebrates LGBTQ pride and sex-positivity all year long.
During Pride weekend, Chi Chi LaRue’s will feature its Tom of Finland store, showcasing the wide array of pleasure toys created by XR Brands to pay tribute to Tom of Finland, whose iconic artwork celebrates gay culture.
Also at the store, United Consortium will present Bucked to consumers. The new line lubricants is the manufacturer’s first venture into specific male products.
“The launch happens all Pride weekend at the store,” said Chi Chi LaRue’s Rob Novinger. He reports that there will be dancers at the store, and product giveaways. Also, he says, “They’re giving away an iPad and hosting a competition for best selfie.” The store is located at 8861 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069. And while you’re at LA Pride, don’t forget to check out Erotic City, an adults-only area that celebrates the leather and fetish community. The space is hosted by Sanctuary LAX, Avatar LA, the SoCal Mens Bondage Club and C-Men. Click here for more information.
