LOS ANGELES—Next Door Films is set for the Saturday premiere of "That Summer," a new featurette starring the studio's contract stars Carter Woods and Ryder Owens.
The sixth release from the story-driven line follows an erotic tale of self discovery and romance in an unexpected place. Executive producer and CCO Jeremy Babcock originally had the idea and then brought it to life with the assistance of writer Dalton King.
“This project has really been my baby from day one,” Babcock said. “Inspired by a country song of the same name, I guess you can say this film is my way of having some gay fun with my Montana roots. Let’s make some eye candy and explore what happens behind closed doors out in the country. Ryder and Carter with a need to feel the thunder and chase the lightning from the sky.”
Writer King enjoyed working closely with Babcock, saying, “Writing this scene was so much fun; I don’t think I’ve ever written something like this in my life. I feel privileged that I was able to flesh out an idea that Jeremy Babcock had been wanting to do for a while. Both Carter Woods and Ryder Owens are fantastic in this movie. I can’t wait for y’all to check it out!”
Marking his acting debut, Ryder said he was pleased with the experience. “I think this scene with Carter was so fun. He’s so sexy and fun that when we were making the scenes, I didn’t want to stop filming! The whole idea is so beautiful and sexy. I’m excited to see the full thing and I’m sure a lot of people are gonna love it and want to watch it over and over.“
Woods said he identified with the story as well, noting, “It was great to fit into a role that felt a little closer to home. Always a pleasure to work with our crew at Next Door Studios, and Ryder was an awesome scene partner to work with, taking the film to the next level.“
"That Summer" goes live Saturday at NextDoorStudios.com, where the trailer for “Make Me Fucking Sweat” is also debuting. That title stars Next Door exclusive Brandon Anderson, who gets a full body workout in on Chris White.
