NakedSword FilmWorks Adds 'Trouser Bar' to Its Catalog

SAN FRANCISCO—NakedSword continues to grow its catalog of indie shorts and feature films with the addition of Trouser Bar, an award-winning 2016 British silent erotic comedy/fantasy short film. The NakedSword Film Works library now has more than 17 shorts and features.

Trouser Bar was created by gay adult director Kristen Bjorn, and the timing of its addition to NSFW couldn't be more apropos. follows last month's release of Peter De Rome, Grandfather of Gay Porn—a perfect segue, because the script for Trouser Bar was passed down to Pathetique Films from the late Peter De Rome.

There has been much controversy over Trouser Bar, and the identity of the screenplay’s author has not been unequivocally established. British screenwriter, playwright and producer David McGillivray was responsible for bringing the controversial short to life. (For a hint on the controversy, note that Wikipedia references a 2016 tweet by McGillivray: “My dispute with the John Gielgud Charitable Trust has been settled. Trouser Bar can continue to be shown throughout the world.”

Set in a menswear boutique in 1976, Trouser Bar can be described as a  porn music video with hints of British comedy. The suspected author was well known to be obsessed with trousers, corduroy and leather—hence the ’70s vibe of the short. The 1970s porn music coupled with the distinct period clothing of mostly corduroy add to the aesthetic. The film’s quirky yet sexual nature is apparent throughout as viewers uncover what really goes on behind the facade of Sir John’s trouser shop, with its perfectly dressed mannequins in the window. It's all revealed in this 20-minute short, and by the end of it there's a crowd of on lookers peeping in the window of the trouser shop to witness an all-out public orgy.

The film stars Denholm Spurr (Bobby), Craig Daniel (Joe), Zac Renfree (Larry), Ashley Ryder (David), Scott Hunter and Hans Berlin as well as British comedians Barry Cryer and Julian Claryin in cameo roles. Actor Nigel Havers and London drag entertainer Miss Hope Springs also appear.

Tim Valenti, president of Falcon Studios Group and the NakedSword Network, said, "I just love how unique this short is and how it combines music, design, comedy and sex in such a way that the viewer is instantly sucked into the world they have created. While it has hints of comedy with artistic flare it remains both entertaining but still very sexy, which is something viewers are wanting more and more of these days, so it's a wonderful addition to the NakedSword Film Works library."
