NakedSword Celebrates 10th Anniversary of 'I Want Your Love'

SAN FRANCISCO—It's been 10 years since NakedSword released its hit indie gay film I Want Your Love, and the company is celebrating this milestone by streaming the full-length feature for free. Starting this Friday, March 26, I Want Your Love will be streaming on Weekends at NakedSword all weekend long.

I Want Your Love is a coming-of-age story produced by NakedSword and directed by Travis Mathews. The picture stars Jesse Metzger as a broke 20-something hipster who spends one last night with friends and lovers in San Francisco before moving back home to Ohio. I Want Your Love includes some risque sex scenes, yet it received mainstream attention and was a critical success, as well as a commercial hit on NakedSword. The movie screened at film festivals around the world including OutFest LA, Frameline San Francsico and the Toronto LGBT Film Festival, to name a few.

Tim Valenti, president of Falcon/NakedSword and the movie's executive producer, stated: "I can't believe it's been a decade since we made I Want Your Love. I remember it being a huge risk for an adult company to invest so much money in producing an independent feature film. I'm very happy that we did it and that it paid off. It really has become a gay cult classic and is still talked about today in the context of groundbreaking gay cinema. To celebrate the 10-year anniversary, we are streaming it free for the first time ever for those who haven't seen it or who want to see it again."

I Want Your Love made global headlines when it got banned in Australia for its explicit sex scenes. This prompted Academy Award-winning actor James Franco to protest the ban on behalf of Mathews, with whom he worked with on Interior. Fans of gay cinema won't want to miss the chance to stream a piece of gay cinema history for free beginning Friday, and all weekend long, only on Weekends at NakedSword.
