HOLLYWOOD - Michael Lucas wed his partner, Richard Winger, in an intimate ceremony in a stunning mansion at the top of the Hollywood hills. The ceremony was officiated by West Hollywood City Councilman John Duran - with Lucas and Winger including personal vows - and videographed by Lucas Entertainment's bubbly Mr. Pam.
Lucas, the president and CEO of Lucas Entertainment, met Winger, a businessman and president emeritus of New York's LGBT Center, at a holiday party eight years ago.
The event was also a fund-raiser for the No On Prop 8 campaign. The California initiative would eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry. Guests were urged to donate to the No On Prop 8 campaign in lieu of gifts.
The setting for the nuptials was an estate - with waterfall, pool, and two garages (housing a total of, at least from what was visible, nine classic sports cars) - which was perched just off Mulholland Drive, which runs the crest of the Hollywood hills. Attendees included a sleek Chi Chi LaRue, Channel 1's Rob Novinger, Randy Blue, JC Adams, singer/drag extraordinaire RuPaul, author and voice-over actor Ben Patrick Johnson, TheSword.com's Mike Stabile, Joanne Capachero of the Free Speech Coalition, Billy Masters, Unzipped Media's Ken Knox and Michael Matson, and Cybersocket's Morgan Sommer.
The two happy grooms plan to commemorate their marriage with a gathering in New York City in November.
