SAN FRANCISCO - Hardcore rope bondage, whipping, muscle worship and explicit gay sex are showcased at Bound Gods, which launched Friday as the first site from Kink.com's gay division, Kink Men. Bound Gods is directed by performer and rope bondage expert Van Darkholme, whose DVDs of bound-and-beaten muscle studs have become cult favorites in the gay bondage community.
"When I signed on at Kink.com I was excited to see what the collaboration would bring," said Darkholme. "I think my fans will be pleased at just how hot, intense and dirty the action got."
The site went live with eight shoots. It will feature 30-45 minute video updates every Thursday in addition to hundreds of related still images. Each Bound Gods shoot includes hardcore gay sex, sadomasochism and bondage. User comments are encouraged, Darkholme said, as they provide valuable inspiration for new product.
Darkholme confessed to harboring special affection for muscular men and leather daddies.
"I'm heavily into muscle," Darkholme said. "I like lean, ripped hunks. Hopefully we'll get some older guys involved, too."
Darkholme has worked as a performer for the likes of Titan Media and Can-Am Productions, and since 2001 has been the proprietor of Muscle Bound Productions, releasing about a dozen films featuring muscular studs in bondage. Darkholme is an expert practitioner of Shibari, an elaborate and artful form of rope bondage that originated in Japan. He also is a skilled photographer: German publisher Bruno Gmunder published a book of Darkholme's bondage photography, Male Bondage, in 2006.
Kink.com founder and CEO Peter Acworth said Bound Gods may be the catalyst for even more gay offerings from the archetypal BDSM studio.
"I'm very excited about this release in particular because it marks our first serious attempt to enter the gay market," he said. "If Bound Gods is as successful as we think it will be, it will open the doors to a whole suite of gay websites. We already have tentative plans for more projects under the Kink Men brand, and we are just waiting to see how this initial project is received."
In addition to Bound Gods, Kink.com soon will begin offering Darkholme's Muscle Bound Productions films on its on-demand site, Kink on Demand.
