PALM SPRINGS, Calif.—Episode one of Sacred Sex, the newest limited series from Himeros, is now playing exclusively on Himeros.tv.
In the series, Himeros founder Davey Wavey partners with a former priest and current gay sex coach to reclaim sacred and religious symbols and imagery.
The conceit of Sacred Sex, according to the company is that "sex—and gay sex, in particular—is sacred. Recognizing the sacred nature of what we do with our erotic bodies is the first step in countering centuries of being told that we are sinful, impure or, the church’s favorite word, ‘disordered.’ Those words have taken their toll on the gay community and many have experienced the shame and trauma that comes with them."
In debut episode "Baptism," starring Nico Nova and Drew Dixon, the aim is to reclaim what it means to be washed clean, to initiate sex through the element of water.
Commented Wavey, "Make no mistake: When religion says that our sex is disordered, they are committing trauma against gay and bisexual people. As someone who grew up Catholic, working on this Sacred Sex project, which reclaims religious symbols and imagery, was a tremendously fulfilling and healing experience."
To go along with the launch of this new series, Himeros has made mini documentaries from the Sacred Sex shoot. The first one offers a behind-the-scenes look at producer Coach Nic, the process at Himeros.tv, and the models. The documentaries can be seen here or on YouTube.
More episodes of Sacred Sex will follow on Himeros.tv in the coming weeks starring Ray Dexter, Troye Jacobs, Nico Nova, Drew Dixon, Tomik 9.5 and Jack Valor. The company is also offering "Sacred Sex" sale of 50 percent off memberships.
