Group to Blog about ‘Decade of Porn’

CYBERSPACE - Beginning Friday, 13 blogs that follow the gay adult entertainment industry will begin a collaborative effort to discuss, dish and celebrate the near-decade 2000-2009 in gay porn.

The idea sprang from a lunchtime chat during which Onan the Vulgarian mentioned to JC Adams that his 1998 list of the all-time best gay porn films needed updating.

"We're coming to the end of a decade, believe it or not," said Adams. "As a group, we felt it was important to look back at the past 10 years in gay adult and commemorate the highlights ... and lowlights. The adult industry is undergoing a period of retrenchment right now, and at times like these it's useful to examine the past as we try to scry the future."

Added Onan the Vulgarian, "Because ‘it's only porn,' too much of this critical component of gay history is lost. This blogging project will help to provide a cultural and erotic perspective on where we were and whence we've come in the past 10 years."

The 13 bloggers are: JC Adams of Gay Porn Times, Mark Adams of VidioView, the editors of Fleshbot, Butch Harris of ManNet, Mark Kliem of Lavender Lounge, Billy Masters, Jason Sechrest of JasonCurious, Vincent Lambert, Mickey Skee of GAYVN magazine, Nick Young of NickYoungXXX, Onan the Vulgarian of XX-Factor, the editors of TheSword and the editors of GayPornBlog.

Each blogger will publish his comments and observations to his own blog, website or other media outlet. The nature of the remarks is up to each individual, and there is no predetermined format or content.

Adams said the project will last for at least one week, but may run longer.
