LOS ANGELES—SayUncle, the award-winning gay adult studio, wanted to do its part for Pride Month—and during June, it managed to raise $13,900 for the LA LGBT Center Care Fund. The proceeds came from part of the new sign-up fees to the members-only site, and those funds were matched by the studio. Donations from the SayUncle membership drive, $5 for every monthly subscription and $25 for every annual subscription purchased during the month of June, which SayUncle matched, were directed to the LA LGBT Center’s CARE (Community Action Response Effort) Fund. CARE aims to serve as a rapid response for those in need during the COVID-19 crisis for the most vulnerable in the LGBTQ community. According to the Center, every dollar raised for the CARE Fund goes to guaranteeing healthcare access to those who would otherwise be turned away, food for those in financial desperation, expanding tele-health and remote programs, and shelter for those with nowhere else to go. CARE considers itself to be a beacon of hope in times of desperation, and during the worldwide pandemic, it is an essential tool to benefit people who need it the most.
