Former Gay Porn Performer Antonio Biaggi Runs for Local Office

LOS ANGELES—Antonio Biaggi, a controversial gay porn performer who previously worked for the Raging Stallion Studios, announced on his social media accounts that he is now seeking public office. According to his campaign Facebook page, Biaggi has thrown his hat into the ring for a seat on the Wilton Manors, Florida, City Commission.

The city, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, calls itself the “second-gayest” in America, according to The Miami Herald. It has also since 2018 been the first city on Florida history to elect an all-LGBTQ city commission.

The city’s first openly LGBTQ mayor, Justin Flippen, suddenly died in February. The 41-year-old Flippen, who suffered a brain aneurysm on his way to a city commission meeting, received tributes from around the country, including from former Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg

Biaggi — who is running under his middle name Melecio — on his Facebook page describes himself as a “former business owner” as well as an “environmental advocate, (and) animal rights activist.”

“My background as a Manager for a tour companion Puerto rico and owner of several business , gives me the tools and experience to serve the City of Wilton Manors,” Biaggi says on “Melecio 2020” Facebook page.

While it appears that Biaggi has not worked for a major gay porn studio in approximately a decade, according to the site Str*upGayPorn, the performer “has maintained a following by operating his own amateur pay site.”

His Twitter account currently boasts more than 131,000 followers.

Though his campaign Facebook page makes no mention of his career in gay porn, Biaggi caused controversy three years ago for an unrelated reason. In a 2017 Twitter rant, he attacked the singer Beyoncé — and her fans.

In one tweet, Biaggi said that “any black girl that has the decent Voice with a big crew of queens will do the same thing that she does.” The remark led other Twitter users to accuse Biaggi of racism.

Whether Biaggi’s past will play a significant role in his campaign will be decided by the Wilton Manors voters on November 3.
