<em>Velvet Mafia</em>, Loaded With "Firsts," Now Releases on September 29

Falcon Studios recently announced September 29 as the revised release date for The Velvet Mafia, the studio's big-budget, two-part film for 2006.

Mafia is a plot-rich movie that tells the story of two warring "porn mafia families," the Avalons and the Starrs, who feud over the much-desired porn model Fox Ryder. "In the cutthroat process of trying to sign Fox Ryder, money is lost, diamonds are stolen, and blood is shed," said the movie's director, Chris Steele.

The Velvet Mafia also stars Falcon Lifetime Exclusive Matthew Rush, exclusives Roman Heart, Erik Rhodes, Derrick Vinyard, and Brock Penn (making his debut performance), Falcon legends Chad Hunt and Trent Atkins, and 17 more performers in sex and non-sex roles, including Paul Barresi and Chi Chi LaRue as the heads of the opposing families.

The movie was conceived and written by "Austin Deeds," the real-life mother of director Steele. “My mother has been writing mainstream scripts for years," he said, "and in the past she has suggested film plots to me, but for one reason or another the timing was never right for us to collaborate.

"When I started thinking about my third two-part film for Falcon, my mom threw out the idea for The Velvet Mafia and I said, 'Write it!' I loved the story! When I read her script the characters just came to life. I knew right away who Fox Ryder should be, and I knew who Mason Avalon and Warren Starr should be. The results of her vision, the hard work of the models, cast and crew really shows in this film and I am extremely honored and proud to have directed it.”

This is the first Falcon film to have its own enhanced website, VelvetMafiaTheMovie.com. Launched earlier this month, the site features extensive hardcore clips and galleries, model galleries, wallpapers, live sex shows, behind–the-scenes footage and video interviews.

According to Falcon Promotions and Events Manager Troy Prickett, anyone purchasing The Velvet Mafia will be given unlimited access to the site and free membership to www.falconxxx.com.

There is also limited free content and a full hardcore trailer on the enhanced site for those who would like to sample it before making a purchase, Prickett said.

Another first for Falcon is the commissioning of a local San Francisco band, Mon Cousin Belge, to write, produce, and perform the movie's theme song, "Goin' Down."

"When Mon Cousin Belge turned in 'Goin’ Down' it was like they had read my mind: The song is the perfect theme song for this film!” said Steele.

YouTube has played a huge role in the movie's early promotion, Prickett noted. "On August 14 the first teaser clip was posted and within one week over 14,000 people had viewed the G-rated clip. To date it's been viewed over 31,000 times. On August 21 a second clip was posted and in less than 24 hours well over 1,000 views were logged. To date there have been 45,000 views of the second clip," he said.

Prickett said that this was also Falcon’s first time in years to feature a new brand of underwear in one of its films. “Rufskin is the official clothing of The Velvet Mafia," he commented. “Rufskin was extremely generous and supplied clothing for every model in this film — from T-shirts to jeans to underwear. They just basically opened their warehouse doors and said, 'Take whatever you need.' Their clothes are really sexy and fit the film (and models) perfectly. If there was a real ‘porn mafia’ Rufskin is what I would expect their boys to be wearing!”

The Velvet Mafia is available to retailers through Pulse Distribution, [email protected].
