LOS ANGELES—Adult performer Alex Riley—the 2020 GayVN Award-winning Best Newcomer—has passed away, according to Helix Studios, where he had been under contract since 2019.
"We are heartbroken over the loss of Alex Riley, one of the most vibrant and talented young performers we’ve ever had the privilege to work with," Helix said in a statement published today on its website. "Please respect his family’s privacy during this devastatingly difficult time. We love you, rest in peace Alex."
Riley is credited with more than 50 scenes since 2018—more than half were for Helix. His early work included scenes for FraternityX and MissionaryBoys.
His first shoot for Helix was with Jacob Hansen, who on Thursday tweeted, "To all of Alex’s friends and fans.. on Monday I got a phone call from Alex’s best friend that Alex passed away early Sunday Morning. Rest In peace babe you will always be part of me no matter where my life takes me."
Performer Jordan Lake said on Twitter he first met Riley in October "for the filming of return to helix academy."
"He was my first ever scene," Lake tweeted. "... He showed me the ropes, he helped celebrate my 19th birthday with me, he was so funny and giggly everywhere he went...I’m really gonna miss you Alex."
Born and raised in Dallas, Riley had wanted to be in the adult industry from a young age. He started camming during his two years at Texas State University in San Marcos.
A standout track athlete in high school and college, Riley was a big Dallas Cowboys fan and often attended home games at AT&T Stadium.
In January 2020, he won the GayVN in a tie with Nic Sahara.
