DÜSSELDORF, Germany - German gay adult producer XY-Studios will begin direct distribution to the U.S. in January.
"We will do all the distribution ourselves to make sure all of our titles are available nationwide for distributors and online stores," sales manager and chief executive officer René Bolinski said. "This is the way of distribution we have used very successfully in Europe for more than five years. All the major European distributors like Dusedo, RHD, Scala, Vimpex Sönke Baumeister and the major online stores like Homoactive, GayRado, GayMegaworld, SimplyGayDVD and Cadinot work together directly with XY-Studios in a very harmonic way."
Bolinski said direct relationships are beneficial to customers because pricing structures can be more fluid.
In addition to offering DVD products, XY also will make available book releases and a new lube line, XY-Gay.
Among DVD products, XY has added BerlinStarFilm's catalog.
"From the beginning of January, XY-Studios will be the exclusive release company for all titles from the successful fetish studio," Bolinski said.
BerlinStarFilm owner Uwe Stoll added that his studio's films will be available in both Europe and the U.S. through XY.
"After the big success we had with our titles in the past month after working together with René and XY-Studios in European distribution, I was very happy when they asked me to work together with them also in the U.S.," Stoll said. "I am absolutely sure the new distribution I chose in the U.S. will help to make BerlinStarFilm a very well-known fetish studio in the U.S.
"Both our companies are very successful in their genres," he added. "Together we can do very good things and offer more top movies to the customers."
