WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—The Cybersocket Web Awards—the only event of its kind honoring the best GLBT websites—mounted its 11th annual ceremony last night, giving out dozens of awards in both “Surfer Choice” and “Industry Choice” categories.
Sites are nominated on the basis of how well they fulfill their stated missions, and for their usability, design qualities and unique characteristics.
According to its own stated mission, Cybersocket believes “it is essential to honor these individuals and companies as being technological entrepreneurs, important agents of free expression and cultural change, and innovators in queer online media and entertainment.”
Among those important agents were the following winners, who were announced at the 2011 ceremony, held Feb. 7 at the Factory nightclub in West Hollywood.
