White Party to Celebrate 25th Anniversary in November

MIAMI—Thousands of people are expected to descend on Miami and Miami Beach, Fla., Nov. 25-30 for the 25th anniversary celebration of one of the oldest and largest HIV-AIDS fundraisers in the U.S.

The White Party, which chose “A Formal Affair” as the theme for its 25th anniversary, will occur near the end of White Party week. Scheduled to take place Nov. 29 at the famous Villa Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, the gala event will feature internationally known DJ and producer Tony Moran spinning tunes on the main dance floor overlooking Biscayne Bay.

The “casino mound” will offer local entertainers and casino games—including poker, blackjack and slots—at which lucky guests may win fabulous prizes. Some of South Florida’s favorite restaurants will be spread around the Vizcaya grounds handing out tasting portions of their world-class cuisines.

Thousands of people are expected to attend dressed in white, while in keeping with tradition others will sport elaborate costumes that take them months to prepare.

White Party Week Miami began in 1985 and since then has raised millions of dollars for Care Resource, South Florida’s oldest and largest HIV-AIDS community service organization. With offices in Broward and Miami-Dade counties, Care Resource supplies a continuum of services to those affected by and infected with the disease.
