NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—For the first time ever, gay adult studio Jet Set Men has made its groundbreaking explicit soap opera Wet Palms available in download-to-own format. All nine episodes are presented in their entirety.
Though praised for its ingenuity and artistic execution and successful in DVD release, Wet Palms struggled to find an audience online after its Sept. 1, 2004, debut. Series creator Brett Drysdale parted ways with Jet Set Men in late 2005, and the eponymous website for which Wet Palms was lensed collapsed shortly thereafter.
Five years later, re-released Wet Palms is enjoying popularity in mobile formats.
“When it was released, Wet Palms was hailed by many critics as ahead of its time, but I feel it recalls a bygone era of gay porn with its award-winning concept and attention to production values,” Drysdale said from his home in Toronto. “There’s murder, intrigue, corporate espionage, and of course lots of hot sex with a huge cast of stars—and those guys could act!

The GAYVN Award-winning hardcore gay episodic soap comprises a series of interwoven stories about the scandalous lives of the residents and visitors at Wet Palms, a fictional West Hollywood, Calif., hotel-residence. Part Melrose Place, part Queer as Folk, the series was the first gay porn soap opera in history.
The ensemble cast included Michael Soldier, Gabriel Knight, Rob Romoni, Brad Benton, Jason Ridge, Ethan Marc, Rod Barry, Cody Cash, Jason Sechrest and Bret Wolfe, with special appearances by Chi Chi LaRue, Sharon Kane, Ashton Sorenson, Andrew Addams, Chad Donovan and Paolo Cortez.
“Making Wet Palms was so much fun,” said Romoni, now Jet Set’s director of casting and marketing. “Some of my best memories in porn are from being on those sets. The hysterical scenes are even funnier on an iPhone.”
The Jet Set Men website allows users to download episodes in the format they choose (FLV, M4V & WMV) with no increased charge for selecting the same scene in more than one format. Internet users do not need a membership to download scenes; however, members do receive a discount and the ability to watch scenes prior to purchasing them. Once downloaded, a scene remains the user’s forever.
