Two Arrested in Death of Cobra Video Owner

CitizensVoice.com is reporting the arrest of two men in connection with the murder of Cobra Video owner Bryan Kocis. Kocis died of multiple stab wounds on January 24. Cobra is known for its barebacking movies employing models in the 18-21 age range.

CitizensVoice.com, which broke the original story, reports that Harlow Cuadra, 25, and Joseph Kerekes, 33, were arrested in Virginia Beach, Va., this afternoon with investigators charging that the two murdered Kocis with the hope they could then sign his star actor, Sean Lockhart, 19 (who goes by the name Brent Corrigan), to their own gay porn business.

Authorities linked the two to Kocis' murder through e-mail, credit card receipts, photos, and comments allegedly made while they were under surveillance on a San Diego, Calif., nude beach.

Police evidence points to Cuadra arranging a meeting with Kocis under the impression he wanted to become a Cobra model, which lead to their meeting on January 24.

Arrest papers claim that a few days before the murder, Cuadra and Kerekes met with Lockhart and implied they could have Kocis killed, asking, "What if Bryan left the country?" Lockhart and business partner Grant Roy got the hint and pulled back from further discussion, though a "confidential informant" told police a "verbal agreement" was made that Lockhart would work with Cuadra and Kerekes if Kocis was not in the picture.

At the end of April, police surveilled a meeting with the four men. Cuadra spoke about his "meeting" with Kocis, and Cuadra and Kerekes talked about what happened before and during the murder, with Cuadra allegedly saying, "It was quick; he never saw it coming."

Cuadra and Kerekes face homicide, robbery, arson, accomplice to murder, burglary, and abuse of corpse charges, in addition to others. Additionally, the Virginian-Pilot reports that the pair was charged by Virginia authorities with conspiracy to violate Virginia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, conspiracy to launder money, and conspiracy to receive money from the earnings of male and female prostitution.

Cuadra and Kereks operate four or more adult websites, and Cuadra is a male escort who in February denied ever meeting Kocis.
