EDGECLIFF, NSW – Titan Media founder Bruce Cam has been appointed to the Adult Industry Copyright Association board of directors. Based in and focused on Australia, AICO is an independent and autonomous, not-for-profit, member-based organization that serves as an educator about and watchdog for copyright breaches. The organization consists of more than 50 international production studios and local distributors.
Cam joined AICO directors Malcolm Day, managing director of Adultshop.com Ltd; Todd Blatt, president of Antigua Pictures, and Samantha Lewis, chief executive officer of Digital Playground.
“I am truly honored to be joining the board of AICO,” Cam said. “My team at Titan Media and I have been battling content theft for over five years now. I hope that I can bring my experience as a vocal and diligent anti-piracy advocate to good use at AICO.
“When a pirate steals from one of us, they steal from everyone involved in and around the adult film industry.”
Founded in 1995, Titan is a longstanding member of AICO.
“I have personally seen the outstanding results of AICO’s anti-piracy work in the Australian market,” Cam said. “After working with the amazing team at AICO, we have seen the rate of pirated TitanMen products plummet. What used to be a small market for TitanMen has grown into a business that is an important part of our bottom-line success. We have AICO to thank for a large part of that success.”
AICO Executive Officer Graeme Dunne praised Cam’s dedication to all of the adult industry’s noble pursuits, but said the GAYVN Hall of Fame director’s anti-piracy experience will be invaluable to AICO.
“Bruce’s experience and commitment will be invaluable to AICO,” Dunne said. “We have worked closely over the years fighting adult film piracy in Australia where DVD piracy has been our biggest problem. However, the increased demand for Web-based content presents new challenges for AICO, and Bruce’s team at Titan Media has tremendous experience and success protecting online content.”
