LOS ANGELES - Tipo Sesso has joined the anti-drug movement by including on its website and DVDs public service announcements produced by the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.
The PSAs are part of a new, $5.3 million drug-resistance program dubbed "Me Not Meth," which was developed as part of the department's California Methamphetamine Initiative. The first phase is targeted at gay and bisexual men in an effort to encourage them either to stop using the drug or not to experiment with it in the first place.
Thirty-second television spots, print and outdoor ads are popping up across California. The campaign will run through September. The ads depict four men's struggles with methamphetamines and how drug use has affected their lives. The TV ad was directed by award-winning gay motion picture director Joel Schumacher (Batman Forever, The Lost Boys, St. Elmo's Fire).
