SAN FRANCISCO - Gay e-tabloid TheSword.com will stream the GAYVN Awards ceremony live online Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. PT.
Coverage will begin on the red carpet and continue through the awards presentation, concluding with a post-show wrap-up of highlights beginning at 10 p.m. An archived podcast of the coverage will be available beginning April 3.
"This is the biggest night of the year in the gay porn world," said Michael Stabile, creative director at TheSword's parent company, NakedSword. "As a co-producer of the awards show this year, we want to let more people in on the debauchery. So while the rest of the industry is getting sauced and toasting their successes, we'll be working into the wee hours to get all the photos and gossip to the porn world's far-flung fan base."
For the second time, the GAYVN Awards will be presented in San Francisco's historic Castro Theatre. This year marks the third year the show has been open to the public. The NakedSword-sponsored "Shameless" after-party at Wunderland marks the first time fans will be able to mix with the hundreds of stars who fly into San Francisco for the annual event.
In addition, more than a dozen studios will host Friday night parties at bars in the city's Castro District to connect stars and fans. On Saturday morning, fans are invited to a porn-star-studded brunch, during which a live taping of NakedSword's gay porn webcast, "The Tim & Roma Show," will raise money for the Stop AIDS Project.
TheSword's sister site, GayPornBlog.com, will provide coverage of the weekend's activities, as well. The bloggers anticipate frequent additions of photos and gossip beginning with Friday night's kick-off party, hosted by Falcon Studios, and continuing through the "tailgate" parties scheduled to occur later that evening at bars throughout the Castro district. Blog coverage will resume the following morning and continue through the evening's awards presentation.
