"The Lair" Issues Casting Call

LOS ANGELES - The Lair, a vampire-themed series on the Here! television network ("Gay television. No apologies."), has issued an open casting call.

Auditions will occur at Retromedia (9421 Winnetka Ave., Suite M in Winnetka, Calif.) from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, January 15. All applicants must have legal status to work in the U.S.

"Porn stars will be cast in feature roles along with mainstream actors, and some roles require nudity," said Gino Colbert, casting director for the production company. "We have numerous parts available, some with simulated sex and many speaking roles without simulated sex."

The network's website describes the series thusly: "In a small, island town, the bodies of young, nameless men are turning up dead with grisly wounds on their necks. A young journalist named Thom is investigating the mysterious John Doe Murders. Clues lead Thom to a private gentlemen's club called The Lair, where the darkest desires are fulfilled."

Colbert said the DVD release of the show's inaugural season is No. 1 on Amazon's list of new releases.

"This newest addition to our lineup authentically and unapologetically reclaims the horror genre for a gay audience," according to Here! founder Paul Colichman.

Shooting for the second season of the acclaimed gay-erotic series begins Feb. 11 in Los Angeles, Colbert said. If interested, contact him at [email protected].
