LOS ANGELES—The Advocate On-Air, a webcast newsmagazine from the publishers of gay lifestyle journal The Advocate, debuted in late February at Advocate.com. Robert Thomas was tapped to host the program, which according to producers will address “issues important to gay people.”
“The Advocate On-Air is dedicated to examining current news, politics, lifestyle and cultural trends,” said Editorial Director Jon Barrett, who regularly will deliver his opinions and analysis in a segment titled “I Advocate.”
The show’s debut episode includes a behind-the-scenes look at the 2010 Olympic Games from a gay perspective; an interview with new Houston Mayor Anise Parker, an out-and-proud lesbian, and a report about growing dissatisfaction with the inability or unwillingness of Congress and the president to address gay issues on a national level.
The Advocate On-Air broadcasts at Advocate.com/OnAir.
